Condition 4.1: No discharges specified in Table 1 shall exceed the limit)s) for the parameters specified in table 1
'Table 1 Text - Analysis of the returned will be sampled with an Infracal Spectrometer Analyser to ensure returned are below 30mg/L'
Analysis of discharges from the Ocean Patriot on the 7th and 16th November was carried out using the retort methodology as the infracal was unavailable, due to this the samples were sent onshore for analysis to undergo the correct analysis, the results from the onshore analysis were confirmed on the 17th January 2024, the results were as follows.
Date Ref Number "Oil Content-mg/l"
7th Nov Sample 1 52.8
7th Nov Sample 2 147.6
7th Nov Sample 3 67.1
16th Nov Sample 1 13.5
16th Nov Sample 2 3.3
16th Nov Sample 3 66.7
The 3 samples on the 7th November were over 30ppm and sample 3 on the 16th November over 30ppm, this means that 4 samples were discharged from the Ocean Patriot over the 2 days above 30ppm therefore this NCR is being raised to account for the 4 samples over 30ppm
When calculated, the mass of oil in both discharges in excess of the 30ppm equates to a total of 1.66kg. |
